Onancock Christmas Homes Tour and Music FestivalPlan to attend the 9th annual Onancock Christmas Homes Tour and Music Festival December 13, 2008. Sponsored by the Onancock Business and Civic Association. Hours for the home tour are 2pm to 6pm, and for the music at Cokesbury Church 4pm to 8pm. Enjoy houses decorated for the season and wonderful Christmas music in a historic setting. Transportation between homes is included in the price of your ticket. Homes on this year's tour are 3 Kerr Street, 96 Market Street, 58 Market Street, 13 Ames Street, 45 Ames Street and 49 Ames Street. Also open will be the newly restored bank building at 44 Market Street (now home to Runniger's Pharmacy), the Onancock School, and a special display of manger scenes at Market Street United Methodist Church. Tickets for the homes tour ($15) can be purchased the day of the tour at the Onancock School (on College Avenue). The music festival is free. All proceeds of the 2008 Christmas Homes tour benefit the Coalition Against Domestic Violence. A local non-profit organization is selected to receive the proceeds each year. Other events in town the same evening include the "Holiday Celebration with History" at the Ker Place house museum. Historically-oriented exhibits and entertainment for the whole family plus refreshments. The North Street Playhouse presents "A Child's Christmas in Wales" on December 12th and 13th at 8 pm, and on December 14th at 2:30 pm.
