A holiday tradition the second weekend in December features Santa’s arrival by boat, the Onancock Christmas Homes Tour and Cokesbury Music Festival, Holiday Artisan Market, Holiday Films, and the famous Parade. Come to Onancock on Virginia’s Eastern Shore and visit homes that reflect the town’s Histroric and unique styles, plus historic sites.

Kick off the Holiday Season with a grand illumination of 30 Christmas Trees on the front lawn of Ker Place, home of the Eastern Shore of VIrginia Historical Society. Trees will be lit nightly from Dec. 5 through New Year’s Eve. Enjoy the festive spirit of uniquely decorated trees sponsored by businesses, organizations and families. Event is sponsored by OBCA. The ESVA Artisans Guild will hold its 23rd Annual Holiday Studio Tour on November 28th and 29th, 2025, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Self-driving tour. The 23rd tour features 45 artisans at 18 Tour Stops! Shore History is honored to welcome MAMA-Girl back to her roots in an exhibition honoring the life and work of Eastern Shore artist and pastor Mary Elizabeth “MAMA-Girl” Onley (1953-2018). The Opening Reception will be held Friday July 11 from 6 -8 p.m at Ker Place. The exhibit will remain on view from July 12 – November 7 and is free and open to the public.
You are invited to explore a diverse collection of some 142 artworks and objects from MAMA-Girl’s studio, generously shared with the public by 10 lenders including the Barrier Islands Center and residents from the Eastern Shore, along with others across Virginia and Maryland.
